Wayanad

Wayanad  is considered to be a rural district in Kerala state, South India with headquarters at the town of Kalpetta.  general elevation varying between 2,000 and 6,000 feet The district was formed on 1 November 1980 as the 12th district in Kerala and shares boundaries with the following districts.

 Kannur (Kerala), Kozhikode (Kerala), Malappuram (Kerala), Nilgiris (Tamil Nadu), Kodagu/Coorg (Karnataka), Mysore (Karnataka) and  Chamarajanagar (Karnataka).Wayanad is the one of the  most sensitive biodiversity location in the earth.

By Air : The closest airport to the Wayanad is Kozhikode airport (CCJ), which is situated at Karippur. The airport is very well connected to this alluring hill station through plenty of transportation options.

By Rail : The nearest railway station to reach Wayanad is situated in Kozhikhode, which is just 84 kms away.

By Road : The hill station is well connected to the prominent cities of India via an excellent network of roads. The Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway No. 212 can be taken to reach Wayanad in a hassle-free manner.
